Lawn Turfing Services in Saltney
Installing new turf transforms your garden in an instant, creating a fully established lawn in just one day rather than waiting months for grass seed to grow. The longevity of your fresh turf relies completely on comprehensive preparation and regular maintenance.
Lawn Preparation
We start by removing all existing plant growth and clearing away debris—such as old turf, roots, and stones that could otherwise cause uneven surfaces. The ground needs rotavating to reduce compaction, particularly important on newly constructed properties where heavy machinery has compressed the earth.
Adding topsoil often proves necessary. We aim for a depth of 100-150mm of quality topsoil, giving grass roots sufficient room to develop properly. Poor quality soil will always result in poor quality lawns, regardless of turf standard. We level and grade carefully, creating subtle slopes away from buildings to prevent water pooling.
Before laying turf, the surface receives a final raking and light firming—solid enough to walk on without footprints forming, yet not excessively compacted.
In addition to our turfing services in Saltney, we offer complementary solutions for your garden, including artificial grass installations, fence installations and more.
